Diary of an Extreme Cowgirl

Every cowgirl has an Extreme Story. So What's Yours?

I am working on many updates. I apologize for being MIA.
I had a very tragic event, Feb 2009, and I seemed to shut down with writers block.

Follow along as I dust myself off after being paralyzed from a broken neck.

To lose a Friend

Posted by Extreme_Cowgirl

I can't believe I am writing this.
After 10 years I was reacquainted with a friend from high school, actually all the way back to elementary school, who helped me look at barns, talk to, visit, and share laughs. A person so happy with the new opportunities heading her way, love for her husband and daughter and the biggest heart for humans and animals has been taken from this earth.

On Dec 26th my friend Melissa passed away. It has sent shock waves through the area. She was so helpful to so many and friends all over that anyone hearing the news is just speechless. The comments on her myspace are all the same, shock and grief.

How could she not be here?

I still think the phone is about to ring with her on the other end to tell me more about her trip to San Diego with her family. She got to live a dream and swam with dolphins. She was there to attend a special conference to attain a certification to specialize in Equine vet assisting. She was excited to go there and was talking many friends, including me, to go to next years. So excited to start working as an assistant to a trainer at a very nice barn. Just excited to see what was coming next.

I just can't believe that someone so wonderful, full of life and hope for the future could just vanish in a heart beat.

I and many many others will miss you Melissa. But I will never forget your hope and huge heart for all things living.

Thank you Melissa for being a friend. A wonderful unyielding friend.
